Beverley started modelling at the age of 17. Unfortunately for her this involved the rather unglamorous task of modelling corsetry for pensioners. She did TV commercials for Becks Beer in Australia, Orange phones (swimming through the ocean in Spain), Elle Magazine, plus shoots for Cosmo and Company. After school she went to Manchester University and got a first class degree in English.
She spent seven months in Australia, working as a sports journalist, and doing a small amount of swimwear modelling.
On moving to Manchester, she became a freelance journalist. After a short while she moved to London where she worked on newspapers and magazines. After interviewing the footballer, Dwight York's agent suggested she take up TV work, and passed her CV onto the head of sport at ITV.
She acted in a Channel 4 programme on poetry, and in 1999 recorded a pilot for Sports Shack on ITV. In February 1999 she began presenting NBA '99 for commercial UK TV channel ITV with Derek Redmond. Appropriately for someone involved in basketball, she is not lacking in height - she stands at 5 foot 10 inches. In this year she also found time to date fellow tall person Jamie Theakston.
She now presents NBA 2000 and took over the presenting of Thursday afternoon's Videotech in February.
